Intervention Specialist
Hi I am Tara, I’ve been in the field of working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities for about 8 years. I found a passion for this work at a young age when I met a girl with Down Syndrome in the 5th grade. Her sweetness and spunk had me enthralled. Through middle school and high school I continued to meet people in the neurodivergent community and found a sense of community, inclusion, and individuality. Since the beginning of my journey I have learned and experienced a plethora of valuable lessons.
I’ve always felt so strongly that neurodivergent and disabled individuals deserve to have a sense of belonging in every space and facet of society. It is so important to adapt in every way we canto be inclusive and uplift those who have not always had a voice. So here I am- still friends with that little girl all these years later and being a behavior specialist where I find so much joy and fulfillment. I graduated from BSU with a bachelor of science in sociology, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree to become a BCBA and move up in the field and have a broader reach.
Outside of work and school I love to travel and experience different cultures and scenery, spend time with friends, roller skate, and go into the mountains to do all the outdoorsy things. I have two cats whom I love with all my heart and who make my life complete. I am grateful for the life I get to live and hope to make the most of it.
