My name is Steven Barcenes and I’m a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Clinical Supervisor for Treasure Valley Intervention (TVI). My role in the team is to offer clinical support through the utilization of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and work alongside family, clients, and staff to ensure a meaningful outcome from Behavior Intervention services. I joined TVI in August of 2024 because I value our mission to support our clients and their families in achieving their goals, both big and small.

Ten years ago I began in the field as an eager Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) ready to make an impact. Despite originally studying mathematics and engineering, I found a passion in the field of Behavior Analysis and became fascinated with its use for making meaningful changes in the lives of my clients. In light of this, I graduated from Boise State with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, shortly followed by obtaining my Master’s of Science in Behavior Analysis from Simmons University. After some blood, sweat, and many tears I became a BCBA and began my work in the field within a supervisory role. After a few years of working as a supervisor as well as an independent consultant, I decided to join the TVI family to continue on this next chapter.

My favorite pass times are getting to hang out with my 7 (for now) nieces and nephews and spending time with my two parrots, Quetzal the African Grey and Watson the Green Cheek Conure. During the winter you’ll find me snowboarding every chance I get, and spreading my love of snowboarding as an adaptive instructor.
