Behavior Intervention Services
Our team aims to promote adaptive behaviors, improve social skills, enhance communication, and increase overall quality of life for individuals who may struggle with challenging behaviors. Implementing the participant’s programs by utilizing various interventions, such as positive reinforcement, teaching alternative behaviors, modifying environments, and providing skill-building opportunities.
Creating Assessment and Clinical Treatment Plans
Conducting thorough evaluations to understand the individual’s behavior patterns, triggers, and environmental factors contributing to the behavior. Developing intervention plans that outline specific strategies, techniques, and goals to address the challenging behaviors effectively. Involving family members, caregivers, educators, and other professionals in the implementation of program intervention plans, ensuring consistency and support across different settings.
Applied Behavioral Analysis
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach to understanding behavior and how it is influenced by the environment. At its core, ABA looks at the relationship between a person’s behavior and their surroundings, then uses proven strategies to create meaningful, positive change in areas that matter most to them.
At TVI, we are committed to using ABA ethically, responsibly, and compassionately. Our goal is to help individuals build skills, increase independence, and improve quality of life through respectful, individualized care.
ABA is a powerful tool. When used thoughtfully, it helps people grow and reach their potential. Like any tool, however, it must be used correctly. Some individuals have had negative experiences with ABA when it was practiced in ways that were overly compliance-focused, not individualized, or not based on evidence. This can include prioritizing obedience over well-being, targeting skills that are not meaningful to the individual, or relying too heavily on punishment or restrictive practices.
We believe effective ABA must be:
- Individualized to each person’s strengths, needs, and goals
- Focused on socially meaningful skills
- Grounded in evidence-based practices
- Respectful and assent-based
- Designed to promote independence and long-term success
High-quality ABA follows seven core principles. It must focus on observable behavior, be data-driven, clearly defined, grounded in established behavioral science, meaningful to the individual, effective in producing real change, and designed to last across time and settings.
We also value collaboration and ongoing training within the Treasure Valley community to help ensure that ethical, compassionate, and effective ABA is the standard of care for all Behavior Intervention practitioners.
Our commitment is simple: to provide ABA that supports growth, honors dignity, and creates lasting, positive change!
